    Pre-UIL at Tarleton State


    Pre-UIL is coming up on Tuesday 3/7! Details and schedule below.

    Who: all eligible students in Wind Ensemble, Honor Band, and Symphonic Band.
    Students must be academically eligible to attend this trip.

    Where: Tarleton State University in Stephenville

    Attire: Concert black for performances. Band polo w/school-appropriate jeans or shorts for everything else.

    Schedule:

    7:00 AM – Wind Ensemble rehearsal

    1st and 2nd periods – normal schedule
    3rd period – all checked out of class, meet in band hall, load truck

    We are working with Aramark for a grab and go lunch.

    10:45 depart – 90 minute drive
    12:30 arrive/unload
    1:00 warmup SB/1:30 on stage
    1:45 warmup WE/2:15 on stage
    2:30 warmup HB/3:00 on stage
    3:30 all done/load truck/change clothes

  • Spaghetti Dinner!

    Recital Night!

    Thursday, February 16th, the MEB presents our Recital Night!

    Students will perform a variety of solo and small ensemble throughout the evening from 5-8 PM. Detailed schedule will be posted soon.

    Our boosters will also host a Spaghetti Dinner, with proceeds benefiting the upcoming band events. Advance dinner tickets are only $8 if purchased by 2/8! Send cash or check (made out to CHS Band Boosters) to the band hall, or use Zelle or Cashapp:

    Pre-sales will close after Wednesday, 2/8. A limited number of plates will be available at the recital night for $10 each.

    Friday, 10/7 – football game at Chisholm Trail HS

    3:00 call time for run-through. Report in full uniform with jacket, MEB/MYNWA under. Bring full uniform with gloves, hat, gauntlets.

    Saturday, 10/8 – USBands Burleson

    Uniform:

    Report in standard MEB shorts/Pandora shirt. Carry full uniform w/green fire or statue shirt and gloves. No hat or gauntlets.

    Schedule for the day:

    7:15 doors/gates open
    7:30 MELT call time (minimal setup)
    7:45 everyone call time/ runthrough on the lot
    8:45 pack/load truck
    9:30 load buses/depart
    10:00 arrive stadium/unload trucks
    11:10 moving to warmup
    12:15 performance

    12:45 reload truck/lunch

    1:30 move to stands as a group

    4:30 awards ceremony

    5:00 snack provided in the lot – prep for finals

    Evening schedule TBD based on finals schedule – first finals performance is 7:15, warmup would be 6:25 at earliest

    After finals performance – dinner in the lot, return to stands for finals awards

    Uniform:

    8:30 call time/stadium runthrough

    2:00 dismiss students on first volunteer shift

    Summer Band Checklist

    summer band rehearsals begin soon!

    Summer band begins in just a few weeks! These rehearsals are mandatory for MEB members.
     July 18-21 – drumline and colorguard intensive camps
    July 27-August 10 – all MEB
    Times vary depending on day and group. For a detailed calendar, please see:

    Here’s a checklist to prepare yourself for summer band:

    • Spend some time outside! We will be outdoors quite a bit.
    • Be active every day! Structured workouts are great, but not necessary. Go for a walk, play sports, climb on the playground at the park, anything to get your body moving.
    • Play your instrument! Tuesday rehearsals will continue until the start of summer band, please attend if you can. At home, play whatever music makes you happy! Music packets with fundamentals and show music are here:

    • Wear light, loose-fitting athletic clothing. Shorts and short-sleeve shirts highly recommended.
    • Wear athletic shoes – no sandals, Crocs, or similar. 
    • Bring your instrument/mouthpiece/sticks/guard equipment
    • Bring appropriate oil/grease/reeds
    • Bring sunscreen!
    • Bring water. You will receive a MEB water jug on the 27th.
    • Ensure your band fees are up to date. Attire will be distributed on the 27th to those who have paid their attire fee. You can check your account via Charms. School code is CrowleyHSBand, password is your student ID.

    Summer band is a lot of work, and a lot of fun. The juice is worth the squeeze!

    Disney 2023

    The Mighty Eagle Band is heading to Disney!

    This trip is optional – all MEB students in good standing are invited to participate.

    Trip dates: April 21-24, 2023. Itinerary includes plenty of park time, a performance workshop, some group activities, and all meals included.

    We will need parent chaperones to assist on the trip. Chaperone pricing is the same as student pricing.

    Your $50 (per person) deposit secures your spot on the trip. Deposits are due no later than 5 PM on August 24th.

    Denton DCI Show July 21

     

    Join us July 21st at the Denton DCI show – see your favorite drum corps up close and in person at the UNT Apogee Stadium! Group tickets are only $30 (must be purchased in advance). Meet at the band hall at 5:00 PM, bus transportation provided, expect a late night. Current students, future students, Class of 22 seniors, and their parents are welcome to join.
