Band is a group activity, and your presence is necessary for the group to effectively learn and rehearse! Please plan your other activities around band events whenever possible. However, we understand that conflicts can happen.

Please fill out the absence form as soon as you know of a conflict so we can plan around your absence. Except in emergency situations, all rehearsal absences must be submitted at least 24 hours in advance to be considered excused. Performance absences must be submitted at least 2 weeks in advance to be considered excused. Transportation is the responsibility of the student and their family – lack of transportation is not an excused absence. Calendars are distributed well in advance to help your planning.

Verbal or email notice of an absence is appreciated, but is not a substitute for submitting the absence form. Form entries are timestamped for future reference.

Students who miss a rehearsal or performance will be provided a makeup assignment to earn credit for the missed work.
