Mighty EAGLE BAND
All CHS band students are members of the Mighty Eagle Band! The MEB performs at all football games throughout the fall, several marching contests, pep rallies, and various other events for the school and community. The MEB is the largest and loudest spirit organization at Crowley HS.
WIND ENSEMBLE
The Wind Ensemble, conducted by Mr. Dunning, is the top concert ensemble at Crowley HS. Wind Ensemble typically plays grade 4-5 literature. Placement in Wind Ensemble is by audition each spring for the following year. Students are expected to participate in All-Region auditions and UIL Solo and Ensemble competitions. Wind Ensemble presents several concerts throughout the year and participates in UIL Concert and Sight-Reading in the spring.
Honor band
The Honor Band, conducted by Mr. Danforth, is the second concert ensemble at Crowley HS. Honor Band typically plays grade 3-4 literature. Placement in Wind Ensemble is by audition each spring for the following year. Students are encouraged to participate in All-Region auditions and UIL Solo and Ensemble competitions. Honor Band presents several concerts throughout the year and participates in UIL Concert and Sight-Reading in the spring.
SYMPHONIC BAND
The Symphonic Band, conducted by Mr. McCue, is the third concert ensemble at Crowley HS. Symphonic Band typically plays grade 2-3 literature. Symphonic Band is open to all students who were in school band the previous year. Students are encouraged to participate in UIL Solo and Ensemble competitions. Symphonic Band presents several concerts throughout the year and participates in UIL Concert and Sight-Reading in the spring.
JAZZ BAND
Conducted by Mr. Danforth, the Mighty Eagle Jazz Band performs at various concerts and events on campus and in the community throughout the school year. Jazz Band meets weekly after school. All students who play saxophone, trumpet, trombone, percussion, guitar, piano, or bass are encouraged to join the jazz band.
DRUMLINE
The Mighty Eagle Drumline, conducted by Mr. Danforth, performs for school and community events throughout the year. Students also compete in indoor drumline competitions during the spring semester. Drumline auditions are held each spring and fall for the following semester.
CHAMBER ENSEMBLES
The Mighty Eagle Band forms several small chamber groups throughout the year. Students on all instruments are encouraged to form their own chamber groups with others in their section. Chamber ensembles may perform at various school and community events, and compete at UIL Solo and Ensemble competition in the spring.
